LAPO Trains 48,987 Beneficiaries On Health Issues

LAPO is actively engaged in community health education. This is in view of the fact that poor health further deepens poverty by diminishing people’s economic productive capacity with the increased cost of health care.


709 Women Receives Human Rights Sensitization, Legal Aid

LAPO promotes all-round progress for women and gives voice to the voiceless and the poor in society. Since 1987, the organization has been defending the rights of abused and violated women in Nigeria through pro bono service.

Between January and March 2019, the organization sensitized and counselled 709 community members on legal and human rights issues and defended the rights of 18 women who were abused and violated.


20,202 Women Equipped With Social Development Skills

LAPO addresses the root causes and manifestations of poverty such as social exclusion, poor health, ignorance and gender inequity in target communities.

Between January and March 2019, the organization impacted the lives of 20,202 women with social development skills to enable them resist and confront obnoxious socio-cultural and traditional practices militating against their progress and the realization of their aspirations.


LAPO Screens 29,025 Community Members for Common Diseases

As a part of its commitment to community health improvement and wellbeing, LAPO is engaged in early detection and management of common diseases in Nigeria.

Between January and March 2019 the organization screened 29,025 community members for malaria, blood pressure, hepatitis, diabetes and other ailments and referred those with health conditions to government-approved health facilities for treatment. 


LAPO Gives 3,211 Indegent Persons Free Medical Support

LAPO improved the health conditions of 3,221 vulnerable community members in Edo South Senatorial District, under its Community Health Outreach Programme, between April and October, 2016. The communities are Erua, Ugoneki, Utese and Iguye.
