Elumelu Leads October 18 LAPO Discussions On SME Devt

Mr. Tony O. Elumelu, Chairman, Heirs Holdings will lead stakeholder discussions on Galvanizing SMEs for Inclusive Development at this year’s Annual LAPO Development Forum. The Forum is scheduled for Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos State, Nigeria from 10am.

Prof. Pat Utomi is expected to chair the occasion with Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, chairman, First Bank of Nigeria as Special Guest of Honour, according to Sabina Idowu-Osehobo, LAPO Executive Director.

The conference programme will consist of high-profile plenary lectures and technical sessions with inputs from key sectors of the economy. Development partners, policy makers, academia, and leading civil society organizations within and outside the country are expected to participate and make significant contributions with inputs from key sectors of the economy.

The outcome of the Forum would be a well documented report containing presentations, discussions, major conclusions and recommendations capable of providing a realistic road map for achieving a vibrant SMEs sector armed with the wherewithal to drive Nigeria’s economic growth and development. 

The Annual LAPO Development Forum provides a veritable platform for stakeholders in development to discuss and proffer practical solutions to identified issues in poverty and development. In 2016, former PresidentOlusegun Obasanjo delivered the keynote speech at the annual forum held under the theme: Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture in Nigeria: Challenges and Opportunities.
