LAPO Holds Women Leadership Award, March 8, 2019

Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) is set to recognise and honour Nigerian women who have distinguished themselves in Business, Professional and Public Life.

The awards shall be bestowed on the winners at the 7th. edition of the LAPO Outstanding Women Leadership Award (LOWLA) scheduled to hold on Friday, March 8th, 2019 at the Edo Heritage Hotel, GRA, Benin City, Edo state.


LAPO Curtails Lassa Fever Outbreak In Communities

The Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) has intensified Lassa fever awareness campaign in vulnerable communities across the country towards forestalling the further outbreak of the disease.

The community intervention programme was carried out in major markets and streets in Edo, Lagos, Oyo and Abuja, reaching over 10,321 persons including children.


LAPO Empowers 1,306,845 Community Members With Social, Health Services

Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) empowered 1,306,845 community members with social and health services across the country in the year 2018.

A breakdown of the figures indicates that 381, 669 persons received direct social and health intervention in target communities while a total of 925,176 community members were reached through Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials and bulk Short Message Service (SMS).


LAPO Combats Cancer, Screens 16,139 Community Members

Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) sensitized 1,200,229 community members against cancer between November 2017 and October 2018 as well as screened 16,139 beneficiaries under its Community Campaign for Cancer Control (LAPO-C4) project in Nigeria.


LAPO Flaggs Off 2019 Outstanding Women Leadership Award Nominations

Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) has flagged off nominations from Nigerian women for year 2019 LAPO Outstanding Women Leadership Award.

The Award is scheduled to hold on Friday, March 8th, 2019 in Benin City, Edo state. The deadline for nomination is February 8, 2019   


Asset Acquisition: Micro-Investment Support Services Limited Supports Clients with N2.8b

Micro Investment Support Services Limited (MISS), a pioneer in micro-leasing supported Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with the sum of N2.8 billion for the acquisition of 3,375 income-generating assets in 2018 financial year.

The amount represents 106% performance over the sum of N2.6 billion disbursed by the organisation during the same period in 2017, according to the Managing Director, Mrs Elizabeth Ngozi Ehigiamusoe.


LAPO Improves Social, Health Status of 135,537 Community Members

In October 2018, Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) improved the lives of 135,537 women and other community members with social and health services across the country.

A breakdown of the total figures indicates that 33,805 persons were reached with direct health, social and legal sensitization in target communities while others benefitted through Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials.


LAPO Screens 11,649 Community Members for Common Diseases

LAPO has intensified measures aimed at curtailing the prevalence of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) in target communities across the country.

In October 2018, the organization screened 11,649 persons for tropical health issues including HIV, malaria, blood pressure (BP), blood sugar and hepatitis. Those with health conditions were promptly referred to government-approved health facilities for further treatment.


LAPO Holds Cancer Sensitization Campaign, Screens 2,894 Community Members

LAPO reached 4,532,127 community members with cancer sensitization campaign between August and September, 2018.

The organization is currently implementing a 2-yearCommunity Campaign for Cancer Control (LAPO-C4) project in Lagos, Imo, Abuja, Rivers, and Edo State aimed at reducing cancer-related deaths in Nigeria with focus on prevention and early detection.
