Be Pacesetters In National Development, LAPO Urges Women

As Nigeria joined the rest of the world to mark this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD), LAPO has charged Nigerian women to rise up to the challenge of becoming pacesetters in national development.

The Executive Director of LAPO, Sabina Idowu-Osehobo, who gave the charge while speaking at the 2017 International Women’s Day Celebration organised by the Lagos Regional Office underscored the important role of women in the society.

LAPO Mitigates Cancer-Related Deaths in Nigeria

LAPO is currently mitigating cancer-related deaths in Nigeria with primary focus on prevention and early detection. The 2-year project, christened LAPO Community Campaign for Cancer Control (LAPO-C4) is being implemented in FCT (Abuja), Lagos, Rivers, Edo and Imo state in partnership with 13 Community-Based Organizations (CBOs).

LAPO Canvasses Sufficient Medical Equipment, Professionals at PHCs

The Executive Director, Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO), Sabina Idowu-Osehobo, has enjoined government to saturate Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) across the country with medical equipment and health professionals.

Inadequate medical professionals and facilities, according to her, results in poor access to health services for rural dwellers who tend to bear a greater disease burden.
