LAPO Empowered 1,475,951 Community Members with Health, Social Services In 2017

Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) empowered 1,475,951women and other vulnerable community members across the country with health and social services in 2017.

The Executive Director, Sabina Idowu-Osehobo who stated this at the organization’s annual review meeting explained that 397,624 persons received direct services while the rest were reached through information, enlightenment and communication materials.

LAPO Supports 108,367 Rural Farmers With N5.7 billion in 2017

The LAPO Agricultural and Rural Development Initiative (LARDI) supported 108,367 rural farmers with the sum of N5.7 billion in 2017. The organization equally provided them with high yield inputs and extension services, which significantly boosted their operations during the year.

22.7m Persons Benefit From LAPO Cancer Intervention Programme

In line with the Nigeria National Cancer Control Programme, the organization is currently implementing the LAPO Community Campaign for Cancer Control (LAPO-C4) project aimed at reducing cancer-related deaths in target states.

Disease Control: LAPO Screens 187,752 Persons

LAPO screened 187,752 women for common diseases including HIV, malaria, blood pressure (BP), blood sugar, hepatitis and diabetes in 2017 with 3,386 beneficiaries referred for treatment in government-approved hospitals.

LAPO Gives 3,211 Indegent Persons Free Medical Support

LAPO improved the health conditions of 3,221 vulnerable community members in Edo South Senatorial District, under its Community Health Outreach Programme, between April and October, 2016. The communities are Erua, Ugoneki, Utese and Iguye.
